Ralph Fiennes Praises Tyler's Emotional Truth

Liv Tyler's portrayal of Arwen in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy is iconic. However, what many fans may not know is that Tyler's Arwen ears almost didn't make it to the big screen.

In an interview with The Guardian, Tyler revealed that she kept the prosthetic ears in her car and they melted when she left them in the sun. "I don't know what I was thinking," she said. "I guess I just wanted to have them close by, but it was a bad idea."

Thankfully, the prosthetic ears were recreated for the filming of "The Return of the King" (2003). Tyler's performance as Arwen was widely praised, with Ralph Fiennes, who played Lord Voldemort in the "Harry Potter" films, saying, "We tested a lot of actresses, but Liv has an acute sense of emotional truth that's not performed or projected, but just is in."
